Q & A
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where is your studio?
Actually, I do not have a studio. I am 100% on-location, in- home based. This means I come to you; all in the comfort of your own home or for those outside session- we meet at a list of fabulous locations all around town.
Where do you get all your cute props and headbands that are seen in your images? Do you have those to use for a session?
Yes! You’ll receive a questionnaire on what you desire for your session. Color tie-backs, hats, baskets etc… If you’re looking for something specifically for your session that I do not have – I suggest WWW.ETSY.COM for some fabulous custom props.
When is the best time to schedule a Newborn Session?
Newborn session can fill up fast depending on the time of year. I however only book 6 Newborn Sessions a month, so there are months if you wait too long to book, my schedule may not have any openings. I suggest contacting me during your 2nd trimester. We will pencil your due date in my schedule so I know to reserve some time in the week before and after your due date. Then, when you have your baby, just give me a call and we’ll set up a date and time. Newborn sessions need to take place within your baby’s first 14 days of life, preferably between 5 and 10 days new.
Can I still book a Newborn Session even if my baby is older then 14 days old?
We can still get some amazing lifestyle images of your entire family and baby in your home. We can also try some posed newborn photography if baby will fall into a deep sleep, but I can not guarantee the curled up images past 2 weeks old. Either way your images will be amazing!
When should I schedule a Maternity Session?
Maternity photos are usually done in your third trimester, between 28-34 weeks.
What happens after I book our session?
Once an appointment is made, you will receive a welcome package via email that will guide you on how our session will go and also will include tips on how to make the most of our session. The email will cover everything you need to know about how to prepare your home and what to expect the day of. You will also have a little form to fill out on what you would like to capture in your session and colors, themes props you desire.
What happens if the weather doesn’t cooperate for our outdoor session?
Living in the Great Northwest- this happens. If your schedule is flexible- I will move around things to fit you in at a later day. (generally in the same week.) If you decide you’d rather have an indoor session- we will set up a lifestyle shoot in the comfort of your own home.
What happens if my child doesn’t cooperate during the session? Will we get a re-shoot?
Yes, but this rarely happens.
What should we wear to our session? What types of clothing should I wear?
For Newborn Sessions- First, everyone should be comfortable! I suggest neutral color so we don’t take the attention away from your new baby. White, tan & beige and black work great for new parents with their newborns. For Family/Children Sessions- contact me! I have a handful of fabulous pinterest links that give you an idea.
How long after my session can I see my images?
Sometimes put sneak peeks up on social media or will usually email you a preview file within 3-5 days of your session. Your full gallery will be online within 10 days from your session date. Your gallery is password protected, you are welcome to share your gallery with whomever you would like.
