You have a few options when it comes to the cake:

• You can provide your own (ideal for allergy or dietary needs)

• I can recommend trusted local bakers who know exactly what works for cake smashes—soft, colorful, and photo-friendly

Make sure to avoid chocolate or red frosting (they don’t photograph as well) and always let your baker know it’s for a cake smash.

👕 5. What to Wear (And What to Bring)

Outfits can be as dressed-up or simple as you like! Some parents opt for a cute birthday onesie or tutu, while others prefer bare bellies and bloomers for that classic look.

I recommend:

• A “pre-smash” outfit for clean portraits
