NEWBORN PRICING & INFO GUIDE

Bringing your child into this world is one of the greatest joys you will celebrate. Your child is a priceless gift  and you will want to remember those teeny tiny fingers and toes, sleepy eyes and squishy cheeks as these moments pass too quickly. I love to share and create memories for your family.

“Sometimes, the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.”
– A.A. Miline

It is never too early to book a session and it is best to book your session while you are still pregnant (ideally near the beginning of your third trimester). If baby decides to come early or late contact me ASAP and we will adjust our session date. When scheduling, the goal is to have the shoot within baby’s first 14 days. During the first 21 days, babies are more curled up and sleep easily while being moved around. {Ideal age is 10-18 days new.}

Important Info

session time

Newborn sessions can last up to 4 hours — it’s completely led by a little baby!   I promise you that your session will not be rushed! Babies are unpredictable and I allow plenty of time for the session.

We will take breaks anytime baby needs to be fed, changed or soothed. Often babies just need a little cuddle time before posing!

Babies will sleep best when the room is nice and warm and if they are fed often before and during our session time. So be prepared to be feeding often.

safety first

My number one priority with newborn photography, is safety first! Your new little bundle will always be treated with the highest level of care! I do not use any props or poses that would put your baby in risk of harm. As a solo Photographer I do not have an assistant – I will ask mom or dad to help assist during our session if needed.

after the session

Approximately 3-5 days, your gallery will be ready for you to view for 10 days.
All images will be adjusted with basic editing. Specific requests for enhancements {i.e. baby acne, dry skin etc.} will be done on the ordered images. Digital files will be delivered via a USB drive or online download gallery. {where family can download also} I offer in-home ordering for oversized prints/canvas orders. I’ll measure and show examples of wonderful art pieces that would add to your home decor.

preparing for your session

01. preparing your home

Upon arriving at your home, I will walk around it to find the room with the best light. When the lighting is good in the parents bedroom, I like to use parents bed as a place to shoot or in the babies nursery. Make sure you de-clutter where needed. If your home is cool or if an air conditioner is on, I’ll just ask that you turn it off while I am there. Babies like it warm! {I also will bring along a space heater}

02. preparing your BABY

Try to feed baby about 2-3 hours prior to my arrival. While I am setting up, I’ll have you do a fresh feeding. Babies with full tummies are always happy and sleepy. This will help before we even start shooting, But don’t be worried when the baby is fussy though. We’ll take some time to relax and feed if needed so that she/he can settle.

I like to shoot babies wearing very little or nothing at all! I will have with me some blankets, wraps and accessories. If you would like your baby to be dressed during the session please make sure you keep it as simple as possible – no bold patterns, stripes, clothes with logos or words. {Prior to our session, you’ll fill out a form with color preferences and your desires.}

03. preparing yourSELF

During the lifestyle session we also take photos of the baby with the family members, so please make sure you wear solid, more neutral clothing and be prepared to change your clothes at least 1- 2 times as “accidents” happen.

Just be at ease, relax and leave it to me! We will go with the flow to make the experience as wonderful and relaxed as possible for everyone.

ITEMS TO HAVE HANDY FOR YOUR SESSION…
  • diapers and wipes
  • pacifier {even if baby hasn’t been introduced to it—it can be extremely handy}
  • extra bottles of pumped milk or formula {if you have been pumping, this is very helpful to offer just a little to settle them into a pose}
  • cotton/bamboo blankets {no texture}
  • special props/keepsakes that you would like incorporated in the session.
  • snacks and water for mom! {you’ll be feeding a lot and you have to stay hydrated and fueled}
